NIXON PEABODY

Law firms traditionally rely on word of mouth and reputation to attract new clients and talent. But as consumer expectations have radically changed, global law firm Nixon Peabody knew it needed a digital transformation. The new website needed to shift to a personalized and existing clients, potential new hires, and the communities it serves. And the way to do it was through standing up an entirely new design system.

Together with Nixon Peabody, we crafted design principles that served as foundational pillars for design and UX work. Then we elevated their branding and digital presence to reflect the firm’s deep experience and expertise. We created a refreshed design system with custom photography, and established a modular, front-end-optimized pattern library in a modern, mobile-friendly, WCAG-compliant website.

A focal point of this refresh and design system is the Nixon Peabody spark. Since it’s in their logo, we wanted to find a way to carry through the idea of it visually, as well as in the way the new website could spark and sustain conversations between the firm, new and existing clients, potential employees, and the communities it serves.

This project was really fun because I had the opportunity to work on various aspects of the website. I contributed to creating a robust design system, ensuring everything was pixel-perfect and ready for development. I also assisted with art direction and participated in multiple photoshoots at different Nixon Peabody offices, which provided us with custom, personalized photography for use across the website.
